Awareness Programs

We conduct Breast Cancer awareness programs regularly under the able guidance of Dr. Seema Vijayvargiya (obstetrician & gynaecologist) and Ms. Veena Paithankar (volunteer) in different areas of society (urban and rural).

These campaigns aim to educate people about the risk factors for breast cancer, such as age, genetics, and lifestyle, and the importance of self-examination and regular mammograms for early detection.

Through our workshops and resources, we teach self-breast examination techniques, enabling women to take an active role in their health. Furthermore, we work to motivate and support women in scheduling regular check-ups and screenings, ultimately reducing their risk of breast cancer.

Lymphedema Management

Treating Lymphoedema by Lymphapress Machine

Lymphedema is the swelling occurred in the arm after Breast Cancer Surgery due to the removal of Lymph Nodes. We conduct regular lymphoedema management workshops to educate patients about lymphoedema management techniques.

This includes teaching patients specific exercises designed to alleviate swelling. We also provide instruction on manual lymphatic drainage massage, a method that has proven effective in reducing lymphedema symptoms. Additionally, we guide patients on proper bandaging techniques to minimize swelling and offer treatments using advanced technology such as the Lymphapress machine. Lastly, we advise patients on the importance of using compression garments as part of a comprehensive lymphedema management strategy. Our commitment is to help breast cancer survivors regain control and enhance their quality of life by managing lymphedema effectively.

Counselling

A cancer diagnosis is itself a disturbing experience for everyone. It comes with multiple emotions for patients as well as for the family. Often people feel stressed, sad, and depressed after diagnosis. We approach such patients and families by visiting different hospitals to provide them with emotional and psychological support.

We provide comprehensive support to cancer patients, focusing on motivating them to maintain a positive attitude throughout their treatment. We also offer clear explanations about cancer treatment, its potential side effects, and coping strategies, ensuring patients and their families are well-informed. Education about dos and don’ts during treatment is a key aspect of our support. Additionally, we are dedicated to helping individuals overcome depression and guide them in adopting beneficial lifestyle changes, including exercise, yoga, dietary adjustments, and meditation, to enhance their well-being.

Wig / Breast Prosthesis

During cancer treatment, women go through many challenges. Other than health issues, women go through many physical changes. These may affect their confidence and social life. We provide them with wigs and breast prosthesis as needed.

Nutritional supplements

We also provide nutritional supplements and medicinal help to poor patients.

Training Programs for Volunteers

We aim for a maximum number of patients to benefit. Therefore, to build a strong team of volunteers, we organize training programs to train them in counselling, yoga, music therapy, occupation therapy, and lymphedema management.
